Watton House Builder Named As One Of Uk’s Most Inspiring Companies
Watton–based house builder Abel Homes has been named as one of the most inspiring companies in Britain by the London Stock Exchange Group – one of only six firms in Norfolk to be included on the list.
The firm features in the latest ‘1000 Companies to Inspire Britain’ report, which identifies the fastest-growing and most dynamic small and medium enterprises in the UK.
“We are delighted to be named in this report, as it shows that not only have we achieved strong growth in the past three years, but we are also outperforming other businesses in our sector,” said Abel Homes managing director Paul LeGrice.
“We believe that our strong local roots and knowledge of the local market, combined with our continued innovation in areas such as design and sustainability, have enabled us to deliver a very strong performance. That is good news for the local economy, because we employ local people and local contractors, and our profits are reinvested locally.”
In the foreword to the report, Xavier Rolet, CEO of the London Stock Exchange Group, calls for more support for companies like those featured in the list. “These companies are our greatest prospect for building a resilient and productive economy,” he writes.
“It is important to highlight companies with the potential to ‘scale-up’ – those which have an astonishing impact on our economic output. The overwhelming majority of fast growing companies in this report are micro-companies, with annual revenues between £6 and £50 million. We need to help more of these smaller companies to scale-up to the next level and beyond.”
Among the six Norfolk companies featured in the report is another Watton firm, pet food producer Natures Menu.
