Two Becomes Three

Jonny Hemmings and his partner Sophie Orford had saved enough money for a deposit on a two bedroom home at Abel Homes’ hus46+ site but with the aid of Help To Buy, were able to purchase a three bedroom house on the same site.

They used the money they saved to put down a five percent deposit on the £185,000 home, with the Help to Buy scheme lending a further 20 per cent. They obtained a 75 percent mortgage, giving them access to a much more competitive interest rate.

The couple have already added to their household, with three month old Dalmatian puppy Domino.
