Traditional Topping Out Ceremony Marks First Release On Exclusive Development Of New Homes At Gressenhall
The construction of five spacious family homes on an exclusive development in Gressenhall has been marked by a traditional topping out ceremony – and the first two homes have been released for sale.
Abel Homes managing director Paul LeGrice was joined by site manager Alan Hawkins to pour local Norfolk ale over the roof of one of the first two homes to be made available.
The Watton-based firm is building three four-bedroom houses and two four-bedroom bungalows on the two acre site, with each new home standing on unusually large plots. The new site has been given the name ‘Five’, to reflect the small-scale nature of the development.
One of the houses and one of the bungalows have now been released for sale, with the house priced at £550,000 and the bungalow at £545,000. With the new homes being made available before the internal fitting is complete, buyers will be able to individualise their homes with specific finishes such as flooring, tiling and kitchen design.
Designed by Norwich-based architects David Futter Associates, the new homes have a traditional design to fit in with the existing village environment – but they will boast the latest energy-efficient features such as air source heat pumps, underfloor heating, solar photovoltaic panels and triple glazing, as well as superfast fibre broadband to the premises.
Abel Homes managing director Paul LeGrice said, “This is a small-scale development; by building just five homes on the site, each one will stand in a substantial plot.
“We have worked hard to create a design of home which fits in with the village nature of the site; however, the interiors have been designed with modern family living very much in mind.”
