Soaring Demand Leads House Builder to Bring Forward New Homes Release
A Norfolk house builder is bringing forward the next phase of an 82-home development at Swaffham, after the first release of 12 new homes was snapped up within a month of launching the site.
The show home at Abel Homes’Swan’s Nest site, on the southern edge of the town, opened at the end of March –and by the end of April all 12 new homes in the initial release had been reserved.
Now the Watton-based house builder is bringing forward the release of the next phase to satisfy soaring demand for the ultra energy-efficient family homes. The firm is building 82 homes, the first phase of a 50 acre site which has planning permission for 250 new homes.
Abel Homes is now releasing a further 6homes for sale.
“We knew that these homes would be very attractive to buyers with EPC 'A' rated energy-efficiency, Broadband 'fibre optic' cabling right to the door and generous room sizes”said Abel Homes managing director Tony Abel.
“But even we have been taken by surprise at how quickly the initial release sold; we never dreamed that they would all be snapped up in the first month. It is clear that we are creating the kind of homes which people want to live in at Swan’s Nest, and now we are bringing forward the release of the second batch of new homes, and accelerating our construction programme to meet demand.”
“Swaffham clearly needs good quality, spacious and energy efficient family homes, and that is exactly what we are building here. It just goes to show that if you build homes of the right quality, in the right location, there is a strong market for them. Our work here in Swaffham is creating valuable employment, as well as much-needed affordable family homes.”
