Show Home Opens At New Homes Development At Hingham
A new development of 88 family homes is unveiled in a Norfolk market town today (Friday 1st April). Abel Homes is opening the doors on the show home at its The Hops site in Hingham, and has released the first nine homes for sale.
The new homes feature an innovative design which has taken its cue from an award-winning Conran-designed development in Norwich, also built by Abel Homes.
The one-, two-, three- and four-bedroom homes on the site, off Norwich Road in the town, have been designed to be extremely energy-efficient, with air source heat pumps, solar photovoltaic panels, triple glazing and high levels of insulation. An independent report by the University of East Anglia-based Whole House Energy has predicted that energy bills will be 32 per cent lower than for a new home built to existing building regulations standard.
Each new home at The Hops will also feature fibre cabling to the premises, with a CAT 6 networking point in the living room. In addition, each home has a parking space and a garage with electrically-operated door.
Tony Abel, managing director of Watton-based Abel Homes, commented, “We are truly delighted to be building in Hingham again, it’s one of my favourite places in Norfolk. We are creating energy-efficient, spacious, quality new homes which have the ‘liveability’ factor – that means we have designed in features which will make these new houses a really comfortable and attractive place to call home.”
The first phase of nine new homes consists of two- and three-bedroom homes, with prices starting from £175,000. The show home is open Friday to Monday 10am-4pm; more details at www.abelhomes.co.uk.
