Norfolk Construction Site Manager Wins Prestigious NHBC Award – For The Seventh Year Running
A Norfolk construction site manager has won a prestigious ‘Seal of Excellence’ award from the National House Builders Confederation (NHBC) – the seventh year in a row that he has been recognised as one of the best site managers in East Anglia and the East Midlands.
Tim Walsingham, who won the award as senior site manager at Abel Homes’ Swan’s Nest site in Swaffham but is now based at the firm’s new site at Swanton Road in Dereham, received the accolade at a glittering ceremony in Coventry – the only Seal of Excellence winner in Norfolk.
Mr Walsingham, who joined the Watton-based house builder in 1999, has won the Seal of Excellence award every year since 2018; he also carried off the award in 2009.
His colleague Danny Pinner, who manages the firm’s Three Squirrels site in East Harling, was awarded a ‘Pride in the Job’ award at the same ceremony – the sixth time he has received that recognition.
Abel Homes managing director Paul LeGrice said, “We couldn’t be prouder of both Tim and Danny, who once again have flown the flag for excellence in construction in Norfolk.
“The NHBC awards reflect exceptional performance on site, which is the backbone of our philosophy as a local house builder. It is a reflection of the efforts we put into all of our developments to ensure that we are producing the very highest quality new homes in Norfolk”.
The NHBC awards are given following a ‘Michelin Guide’ style inspection by a NHBC inspector, who assess site managers against 38 strict criteria, including workmanship, excellent leadership skills, technical expertise, the ability to turn the designer’s intentions into reality, good health & safety standards and a commitment to raising standards. The scheme has been running for more than 40 years.
