Hingham Hornets reveal new sponsor
Hingham Hornets Football Club has revealed its new sponsor for the 2015/16 season: local house builder Abel Homes.
The club, which plays in division four of the Anglian Combination, were winners of the CS Morley Cup last season. They play their football at Hingham Sports & Social Club in the village.
“We make a real effort to get involved in the communities in which we live and work, and when we heard that the Hornets were looking for a new sponsor for this season, we were happy to step in – particularly after their cup-winning season last year,” said Abel Homes managing director Tony Abel.
“Groups such as the local football club are a vital part of the glue which holds a community together, and they deserve the help and support of all of us.”
Hingham Hornets chair Andre Read said, “We are very grateful to Tony and to Abel Homes for agreeing to become our sponsor this year. “The support of local businesses is an important factor in the club being able to thrive, and the players, staff and supporters of the Hornets really do appreciate those firms like Abel Homes who step up to help.”
Next month Abel Homes, which is based in Watton, will start work on 88 new family homes in Hingham, on a site off Norwich Road. The firm built 34 homes at Gardeners Green in the centre of the village in 2008/9.
