First Resident Moves Into Community Of New Homes In Taverham
A Yorkshire-born manager in the automotive industry, who has returned to the UK to take up a job at Lotus after 14 years living in Australia, has received the keys to his brand-new home in Taverham – the first to move into a development of 93 new homes in the village, on the outskirts of Norwich.
Abel Homes sales manager, Clare Cornish, welcomed Darren Mckenna with a bottle of bubbly and the keys to his three-bedroom house at Taursham Park, Taverham.
Mr Mckenna, who is taking up a new role at the Hethel-based car manufacturer, moved quickly to secure his new home when the site was launched, having been recommended to seek out an Abel Homes house by a friend, who previously bought an Abel home in Mattishall – a wise move, as the initial release sold out in a matter of days.
Mr Mckenna says he was attracted to the development because of the high-quality specification of the new homes, as well as their top-level environmental credentials.
“After my friend recommended Abel Homes, I viewed the information and decided to buy this house immediately. I really liked the fact that all of the new homes have the top ‘A’ rating for energy efficiency, with solar panels on the roof, triple glazing and underfloor heating throughout the ground floor.
“I also liked the high level specifications of the new homes, which include benefits such as an electric garage door, and fibre broadband to the premises.”
Welcoming Mr Mckenna to his new home, Abel Homes sales manager Clare Cornish said, “ “It’s always nice to welcome people into their new homes, especially the first person to move onto a new development. We have always said that our business is not about bricks and mortar, but about creating new communities, and we have started to do that in Taverham today.”
Taursham Park, at the junction of Ringland Road and Beech Avenue in Taverham, will eventually see 93 family homes built, as well as three public open green spaces, and a wooded area with woodland walk.
To ensure buyers can view in safety, the sales office and show home at Taursham Park is currently open by appointment only. Appointments can be made by calling 01953 884486.
Taursham is the name Taverham was recorded as in the Domesday Book. More details about Taursham Park can be found at www.abelhomes.co.uk/taverham.
